Xelay Foundation Academic Scholarship

Xelay Foundation sponsors a merit-based need-blind scholarship that intends to support college-bound local high school seniors that have demonstrated not only academic excellence but empathy and compassion for improving the lives of their local community and community members. Since 2021, we’ve granted ~$50,000 to the following schools:

  1. Aragon High School, San Mateo, CA

  2. Burlingame High School, Burlingame, CA

  3. Carlmont High School, Belmont, CA

  4. Hillsdale High School, San Mateo, CA

  5. Springfield High School, Springfield, IL

Xelay Foundation Scholarship 2026-2027

Scholarship Amount: $2,500

Scholarship Type: Academic scholarship

Eligibility: Student must be –

  1. A graduating high school senior from the below schools:

    1. Aragon high school, San Mateo, CA (Baywood resident only)

    2. Burlingame high school, Burlingame, CA

    3. Carlmont high school, Belmont, CA (Belmont resident only)

    4. Hillsdale high school, San Mateo, CA

    5. Springfield high school, Springfield, IL

  2. Attending a 4-year college/university in Fall 2026

How to Apply:

  1. Complete the application and submit it by 03/31/2026

Fund Distribution: Xelay Foundation will distribute the fund directly to the awardee

Application Overview:

  1. Personal Information

  2. Submit High School Transcript (can be unofficial)

  3. Submit Standardized Test Score (optional)

  4. Leadership Experience

  5. Paid Job Experience

  6. Essay (1000 words max, pick one topic from the following prompts)

    1. Describe an emotionally challenging circumstance you experienced, and what life lessons did it teach you

    2. Tell us about your perspective of Asian Americans as the victims of racism/hate/anger

    3. Tell us about a time you failed and what you learned from it
