Housing Matters is dedicated to the coordinated provision of services for homeless persons. The goal of Housing Matters is to provide both emergency and transitional services to homeless individuals and families that will enable our clients to achieve self-sufficiency.

NAACP Legal Defense Fund

Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 80 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.

Red Canary Song is the only grassroots Chinese massage parlor worker coalition in the U.S. There are >9,000 workplaces like these across the country with no political representation, or access to labor rights or collective organizing. Anti-trafficking NGO’s that claim to speak for migrants in sex trades promote increased policing and immigration control, which harms rather than helps migrant sex workers. Red Canary Song also organizes transnationally with Asian sex workers across the diaspora in Toronto, Paris, and Hong Kong.

Social Justice Fund’s mission is to promote social change, welcome diversity, and advance communities of color in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming through fundraising, grant making, and member involvement.

Stop AAPI Hate

In response to the alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University launched the Stop AAPI Hate reporting center on March 19, 2020. The center tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

AIDS Walk SF

Since its inception in 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has inspired countless thousands of Bay Area residents to walk, donate, and volunteer in the fight against HIV/AIDS, raising more than $90 million for organizations across seven Bay Area counties. From its humble beginnings, the event has grown into, and remains, the largest and most visible HIV/AIDS fundraising event in Northern California.

From the start, AIDS Walk San Francisco benefits not just one organization, but several. In 1987, proceeds benefit San Francisco AIDS Foundation, as well as AIDS Emergency FundSTOP AIDS Project, the Black Coalition on AIDS, the Latino AIDS Project, and many others. This reflects a theme – not one voice, but many – that remains an important part of AIDS Walk San Francisco’s identity today.

Today, they empower bold thinkers and inquisitive minds to dig deeper, discover more, and shape the future. $122,440 in support to date has been provided to support business education.

University of Chicago Francis and Rose Yuen Campus Hong Kong

The University of Chicago Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong is the University of Chicago’s premier location in Asia. With alumni and friend’s support led by University of Chicago Trustee Francis Tin Fan Yuen and his wife, Rose Wai Man Lee Yuen, the Yuen Campus builds upon the University of Chicago’s rich tradition of ambitious research, world-class education and deep institutional collaboration throughout Asia.

The Yuen Campus has become home to hundreds of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students across the entirety of all University of Chicago Schools and Divisions. The campus hosts dozens of academic workshops, conferences, and public lectures each year. Since its inception in 2018, the Yuen Campus has also been a destination for faculty and students of the top-ranked Executive MBA offered by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, as well as to professionals pursing non-degree Executive Education courses and University of Chicago undergraduate Study Abroad students.

MIT.nano

MIT.nano is an advanced facility at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, open to the entire community of faculty, researchers, and students. A convening space to spark collaboration and cross-pollination, it provides measurement, imaging, and fabrication capabilities that will dramatically advance science and technology in disciplines across the Institute. Over $100,000 in support to date has been provided towards the development of nanotechnology research.

MIT Museum

The MIT Museum is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting materials that serve as a resource for the study and interpretation of the intellectual, educational, and social history of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and its role in the development of modern science and technology. The Museum stands alone among university museums in its focus on the impact on society of the research, the teaching, and the scientific innovations of its parent institution.

The MIT Museum is preparing to take up residence in the newly imagined MIT Kendall Gateway, where it will occupy more than 58,000 square feet of galleries, classrooms, and state-of-the-art program and performance spaces.

Visitors will encounter a destination for curiosity, exploration, and fun, as well as a venue for conversations and interactions between Cambridge residents, the MIT community, and the companies that have made Kendall Square their home.

The projected opening date for the new Museum is Fall 2022.
